Visioning Session #1

During our first few months of meetings, we spent time thinking on how to create a working group that would embody the DJN's principles of being open, inclusive and participatory. Our first visioning session was a way for each of us to think about our roles in the process. We knew that there would be times when each of us would need to step up and step away, but finding the language for that seemed important.

One significant moment was the dissolving of the Digital Pedagogy Labs/Hybrid Pedagogy started by Jesse Stommel and Sean Michael Morris. This was a community all of us had belonged to and it was such a loss when it ended. We knew what we wanted to grow a community that did rely on one or two people but would be allowed to grow and change hands successfully.

The Jamboard captures some of that thinking - where would we have energy and where would we retreat when we need to rest. I am always thankful that we took this first step in acknowledging our own energy in this process.
